Not every wedding day needs hours of coverage to feel complete. Sometimes all you need is your favorite person, a fun little chapel, and enough time to soak it all in. Tayná and Jéssica reached out asking if I’d make an exception and offer a mini elopement session at Sure Thing Chapel. While it’s not something I normally offer. Something about their vision felt so true to who they were that I couldn’t say no. Thirty minutes later, they had said “I do,” explored every colorful corner of the chapel, and walked away with a gallery full of moments that felt entirely their own!

Why a Mini Elopement Session Can Be the Perfect Fit
Most of my couples book longer sessions so we can visit multiple locations around Las Vegas. But that’s not the right fit for everyone. Sometimes your vision is simple: a quick ceremony, a handful of photos you’ll treasure forever, and then you’re off to celebrate however you want. That was exactly the case here. Their ceremony lasted about five minutes, which left us plenty of time to wander around Sure Thing Chapel. We made the most of every little space, from the iconic pink heart altar to the retro bathroom, the dreamy cloud backdrop, and the neon-lined entrance outside. Because everything is so close together, we never felt rushed, even with just thirty minutes on the clock. It was proof that a shorter timeline can still tell a full story when every moment is intentional.

A Sure Thing Chapel Elopement Filled with Personality
One of my favorite details from this day had nothing to do with the chapel at all. Tayná is a fashion pattern maker, and she designed and made both of their wedding outfits herself. Knowing that made every photo feel even more personal. These weren’t just wedding outfits, they were something created with her own hands for one of the biggest days of their lives. From the second they walked in, they were laughing. They couldn’t stop smiling at each other during the ceremony, hugged like no one else was in the room, showed off their rings outside the chapel, and turned every little corner into their own playground.
Nothing felt forced, and that’s exactly why these photos work. The best moments weren’t planned, they simply happened because they were completely present with each other. That’s one of my favorite things about photographing film. It has a way of slowing you down just enough to notice the moments you might’ve otherwise missed. The quick glances, the happy tears, the laughter that sneaks in between the “official” parts of the day. Those are usually the memories that stick around the longest.
