Tilly & Ian’s Las Vegas Elopement with Hellvis at Sure Thing Chapel

Tilly & Ian’s Las Vegas Elopement with Hellvis at Sure Thing Chapel

There are Vegas weddings, and then there are Vegas weddings where Hellvis shows up in red sequins with an un-holy bible full of jelly beans. Tilly and Ian’s Las Vegas elopement with Hellvis at Sure Thing Chapel was weird, hilarious, a little spooky, and pretty much impossible to take too seriously, in the best way. If a traditional ceremony has never sounded quite like you. Hellvis might be exactly the kind of chaos your wedding day needs.

What to Expect From a Las Vegas Elopement with Hellvis

Hellvis is definitely not your average officiant. His ceremonies come with his own vows, plenty of punchlines, and a sense of humor that can get pretty vulgar, so you should know what you’re signing up for! But for couples who want something alternative, a little gothy, or just completely different from a traditional Vegas ceremony, he makes the whole thing ridiculously fun. He’s especially popular around Halloween, but honestly, there’s no wrong time of year to get married by a spooky Elvis impersonator.

After Tilly and Ian were officially married, complete with Hellvis recommending they seal the deal “the way the French do” the three of them headed straight for Sure Thing’s photo booth. Hellvis jumped in for the first strip before giving Tilly and Ian a round to themselves. From there, we took photos beneath the chapel’s giant pink heart and eventually made our way into the bathroom, because apparently no Hellvis wedding is complete without a few wonderfully unhinged bathroom portraits.

Ending a Hellvis Elopement with a Bang, Literally!

At the end of the time inside the chapel, Hellvis gives couples the option to do one of his most infamous traditions. Smashing a bottle over his head. It’s completely optional, but Tilly and Ian were game. We headed across the street to one of the old neon motel signs for the grand finale, and it was exactly as chaotic and funny as you’d imagine.

That’s what I love about a Las Vegas elopement with Hellvis. It gives you permission to lean all the way into the strange, kitschy side of Vegas instead of trying to make your wedding feel like something it isn’t. Sure Thing Chapel is already one of my favorite places to photograph, and adding Hellvis takes the whole experience somewhere else entirely. Pink hearts, red sequins, old-school Vegas details, and a ceremony you definitely won’t forget, it’s not for everyone, and that’s kind of the point.
